On April 22, 2023, at the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps (2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19130), The Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation, will host its 19th annual Sandy Sprint Philadelphia 5K Run/Walk to raise funds and awareness for the early detection and prevention of ovarian cancer. It brings people together and provides a community for people with ovarian cancer and their families. The event will feature live performances and entertainment from local, Philadelphia groups to empower cancer survivors and supporters throughout the day. The entertainment and Survivor Ceremony start at 7:30 a.m. and the 5K starts at 8:15 a.m.

Back for the 6th year is Philadelphia’s own 6abc reporter, Gina Gannon, who will be hosting this year’s event. The Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation is also partnering with Philadelphia Magazine as the official media sponsor of the 2023 Sandy Sprint Philadelphia.

To kick off the day, Ashli Rice will perform the National Anthem and The Philadelphia Girls Choir will perform an inspiring rendition of Pink’s ‘Cover Me in Sunshine” to bring hope and encouragement to race attendees. Carlos Bradley from AFC Fitness will be leading the pre-race warm-up to get participants ready to hit the course. Philadelphia Eagles Pep Band and Fralinger Mummers string band members will be spread throughout the course to provide entertainment and encouragement to runners and walkers. The Philadelphia Flyers Ice Girls will also be performing to bring spirit to this year’s event and cheer on participants! The Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation’s celebrity ambassador and television star William deVry, will also be in attendance to raise morale and awareness of ovarian cancer.

The mission of the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation is to “fight for those who are fighting, speak for those who have fallen silent and provide for those who are working towards the end of ovarian cancer.” The Sandy Sprint aims to raise funds to advance research so that ovarian cancer can be more frequently diagnosed in its early stages and more women can have the odds of beating ovarian cancer.

All race participants must pre-register for the 5K prior to April 22, 2023. Participants are encouraged to create an online fundraising page to help spread the word about the Sandy Sprint and to reach their fundraising goals. Registration fees are $40 for adults and $30 for children under 12.
