Owners Brennan and Samantha Foxman, and Fishtown Managing Partner Sidney Cooper, are thrilled to announce the grand opening of the 10th location for Wokworks.

Wokworks Fishtown will fire up the woks for take-out, pick-up, delivery and catering on Friday, January 13th, at 11:00am, at 1429 Marlborough Street (corner of Marlborough and Frankford). When opened, the new flagship for Wokworks will have the largest menu of any Wokworks to date – with new menu items that include Bento Boxes, Tiger Fried Rice, Fresh Juice Shots, Crispy Rice Treats, Cinnamon Sugar Crispy Wonton “Chinese Churro” Chips, and several new vegan and gluten free options.

New items join signature Wokworks favorites and staples, like Chili Garlic Chicken Rice Bowl, Dry Pepper Steak Rice Bowl, Drunk Noodles, Pad See Yew, Dan Dan Lo Mein, Bam Bam Chicken, Spicy Garden Bowl, Miso Soup, Crispy Dumplings – and build your own bowls where patrons can pick their base, protein, sauce and toppings.

For the grand opening, foodies and neighbors are invited to celebrate Friday the 13th of January, from 11:00am to 3:00pm for a chance to win a free bowl. Patrons will be asked to test their luck and guess heads or tails – and if they guess correctly they win a free bowl of their choice, one per person, at Fishtown only.

“We have lived in Fishtown for seven years and this neighborhood is our home – we love everything about it,” said Brennan. “We have wanted to open here for several years, and when the opportunity came up to open right along the red hot Frankford Avenue restaurant row, we jumped on it. With this location, this completes our master plan for expansion across the city – with 10 locations in Philadelphia (and beyond) that offers a delivery and/or pick-up radius that spans from Fishtown, Kensington, Fairmount, Temple, Center City, West Philly and University City, North Philly, Northeast Philly, Northern Liberties, East Falls, South Philly, Manayunk, and Roxborough, plus Cheltenham, Glenside, Wyncote, Jenkintown and Elkins Park.”

Brennan added, “With our new flagship location in Fishtown comes our largest menu ever – and the debut of Bento Boxes! We also expanded our gluten free and vegan selections based on customer demand. Watch for more new offerings later this spring, plus watch for the debut of a new cooking ‘wokbot’ that makes your meal to perfection.”

Wokworks is a Philadelphia-based company serving fresh, farm-to-fork stir fry. Beginning as a brick-and-mortar store in 2013, Wokworks currently operates a mix of 10 corporate and franchise-owned locations, including pickup and delivery kitchens, food trucks, food carts, and kiosks. Our sites include hospitals, universities, breweries, apartment complexes, office buildings, and markets throughout the city.

Everything you order at Wokworks is made fresh from scratch, then seared in a wok over very high heat. Each bowl is packed with intense flavor, nutrients, and varied textures, plus a hint of smokiness. We’ve designed all of our cooking equipment and techniques to maximize wok hei, the distinctively complex flavor and aroma you get only when food, oil, and flames meet in a wok. Our healthy Asian fusion menu has something for everyone, with vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options and our classic noodle and rice bowls. We are 100% halal and make everything in-house using the freshest ingredients and no unnecessary additives.

Wokworks offers a healthier alternative to standard “Takeout Chinese Food ” using the freshest ingredients and our housemade sauces. The ancient wok cooking method flash sears ingredients and produces a unique smokey flavor while locking in nutrients and removing the need for excess oils or additives. Everything on the menu is fresh, made with clean ingredients, and 100% halal.

The average cook time per bowl is 90 seconds, making it possible to serve high-traffic areas well. Our menu caters to selective eaters with vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, halal, spicy, and keto options.

For this opening, Wokworks Fishtown will debut with the largest Wokworks menu that exists to date – with the following new additions to the menu:

All New Bento Boxes (Chicken, Steak, Shrimp, Happy Fam, Vegetable)
Tiger Fried Rice
Fresh Juice Shots
Crispy Rice Treats
Cinnamon Sugar Crispy Wonton Chips
General Tso’s Vegetables
Dan Dan Tofu
Spicy Orange Tofu

Look for other new menu items to debut during the year! For other locations, Wokworks offers core signature favorites at all 10 sites around the region – plus each location has its own custom menu with exclusive location-specific items.

For Fishtown’s location, patrons will find a newly painted and renovated exterior of what was formerly Peace A Pie. Located across from Heffe Tacos, and the famous Welcome to Fishtown mural, customers will spot the bright signature pink branding and letters going north on Frankford Avenue.

The Foxmans have joined forces with other partners to create a new culinary and robotics company called Range Robotics, where they will debut a brand new to market wok-bot (formal name under development) that is a cooking robot. The wok-bot will cook food to the perfect temperature at each wok – that is consistent every time. The new robotic arm will debut at Fishtown later this winter/spring before expanding to other locations. Down the road, Range Robotics will partner and sell to other restaurants and bring the technology to market around the world.

Wokworks is owned and operated by Founder/CEO Brennan Foxman, with partner and wife Samantha Foxman. The inspiration behind Wokworks started when Brennan was studying abroad in Amsterdam many years ago. He fell in love with Southeast Asian street food culture, and specifically with a fast casual restaurant that centered around wok cooking and he wanted to put his own spin on the concept in the United States. While still in college, he came back to the United States, wrote a business plan, reached out to investors and opened Wokworks Rittenhouse in November, 2013. At the time, he was an Economics graduate from Tulane University without any formal culinary training, but he had a passion for great food and motivation to make his dream a reality.

At Wokworks, our “farm-to-fork” stir-fry is always fresh, delicious, and quick. And our healthy Asian fusion menu is fully customizable to your taste. The first Wokworks shop opened in 2013 in the Rittenhouse neighborhood of Philadelphia. Thanks to tremendous support from our loyal customers, the business has since expanded to a dozen locations. Today you can find Wokworks’ fleet of trucks and carts, delivery kitchens, and grocery store kiosks across Greater Philadelphia.
