Remember Reading Terminal Market for holiday menus and gifts!

-Brenda Hillegas

What’s on your holiday to-do list? Ingredients or a unique, premade meal to bring to the gathering? Just want some lunch or a pastry during a shopping break? Still so many holiday gifts to buy? There’s a place for all of that in Philadelphia- under one roof. Last week, I toured Reading Terminal Market to see this year’s holiday décor (Santa will be there on Saturday the 17th only), new merchants and what’s coming soon (meaning- I’ll have to go back asap). Check out their holiday gift guide online to learn more or to get some ideas. Here are some highlights from my visit…

Phibert, of course! If you have some spare change to feed him, please do. Donations go to various local charities.
Kensington Food Company’s olive oils, pickles, relish, vinegar and more are perfect for gift baskets.
Pennsylvania Libations is a great spot featuring PA produced spirits, wines and ciders.

There are also some new merchants just in time to bring something delicious and unique to the table: Saami Somi, a Georgian food concept that offers a variety of prepared foods and grocery items, and Sweet Nina‘s which now has a full-time space and serves up a variety of banana pudding that has been voted Best of Philly.

Stocking stuffers? Yes, Reading Terminal Market has them! You’ll be the star of the holiday gift exchange (and don’t forget a little something for yourself too).

There’s always room for Bassetts or Beiler’s

Keep an eye open for some great new concepts too. Sparrow’s Gourmet Snacks is an all-natural, gluten-free snack company with items like popcorn and cotton candy! Pair those snacks with current merchant, Fox and Son Fair Foods, which is also completely GF. Next up, Kismet Bialys. Kismet Bagels is a pandemic-born pop up with amazing bagels (located in Fishtown). Their bialys are incredible and soon you’ll be able to grab them at RTM in sweet or savory varieties. Lastly, RowHome friend Chef Beth Esposito will be opening Butcher’s Pantry with co-owner Rob Passio of Guinta’s Prime Shop. Here, you’ll be able to shop for specialty meats, spice blends, side dishes and more.

There’s always a great reason to visit Reading Terminal Market. From classic favorites, Philly-must haves, shops with rotating flavors and items, and food from around the world… consider this your reminder to stop by for just about everything. RTM is also the perfect spot to bring out-of-towners to if they’re around for the holidays.
