This holiday season, Whoville’s celebrated cabaret star, Mabeline “Grinchester” Diorio, better known as the ex-wife of the Grinch who stole Christmas, comes to Philadelphia for a limited-engagement cabaret experience that’s sure to light the tree and spill the tea on the holiday’s most notorious villain.   The Bearded Ladies and The House of Dorio present a new queer holiday tradition at the Ruba Club, featuring original music and an appearance by DJ Cindy Lou Who.

Theatre Horizon, an award-winning professional theater company located in Norristown, PA, is thrilled to reopen the doors of their theater just in time for the holiday season with a curated evening of music, poetry, and much-needed laughter hosted by Philadelphia Theater icons, Brett Robinson and Alex Bechtel. The Holiday Spectacular: A Celebration of Gathering will be Theatre Horizon’s first in-person production after nearly 18 months of virtual programming as beloved actors, musicians, and community members celebrate the holiday season with this original variety show.

Crossroads Comedy Theater, home to some of Philadelphia’s most recognized comedy shows and programs, such as Not Yet Rated and Study Hall, returns this December to present their first ever holiday programs and performances, featuring limited engagement festive and funny events, including the company’s first annual Christmas variety show.  Not Yet Rated is back with an Improvised Holiday Horror Comedy, Deck the (Study) Halls will feature holiday-themed lectures, and Winter Wonderjawn will celebrate the season with Philly’s best performers, including sketch, stand-up, storytelling, music, burlesque, and more.

11th Hour Theatre Company, the region’s premier boutique musical theatre organization, is celebrating the holidays with a gorgeous, professionally-designed radio play version of the classic Charles Dickens tale.  A Philadelphia Christmas Carol (based on Mark Shanahan’s A Merry Little Christmas Carol) will feature some of the region’s most recognizable performers from across the city’s stages as they team up with internationally- acclaimed opera singers and Broadway stars in new radio play production, adapted by Mark Shanahan, with sound design by Tony Nominee John Gromada and sound editing by Joel Abbott.
