Yesterday, I visited Glu Hospitality’s latest restaurant which focuses on bagels and caters to anyone looking for a quick and delicious breakfast or lunch spot. The menu is pretty simple- bagels, cream cheese, coffee, sandwiches. But the options under those categories really make this Brooklyn-style bagel joint stand out.
This bagel heaven features over a dozen bagel flavors begging to be tasted. Some of the ones featured yesterday included cheddar habanero, french toast, salt, rainbow, egg, onion, sesame, plain, poppy seed, garlic…to name a few. Top them with butter? Sure. Lox? Of course. Cream cheese…oh yes. Pictured below are just some of the flavors! Ask for a sample if you are curious. And bagels are also available to go by the dozen or half dozen, as well as containers of cream cheese.
Zaa’tar, black truffle, lox, blueberry, strawberry, cinnamon apple, birthday cake, olive, walnut raisin, maple bacon, honey nut, salmon dill, roasted garlic, bacon and cheddar, scallion, dill, jalapeño cheddar are some of the cream cheese flavors spotted this weekend. Kait and I tried a rainbow bagel with blueberry cream cheese and a french toast bagel with honey nut cream cheese. I also got a small side of birthday cake cream cheese which was delicious!
Sandwich options are made to order and topped with the freshest veggies, spreads, salads, and deli meats/cheeses from Boar’s Head. We sampled some of the bagel varieties. I’ll have to come back to try the Elvis (peanut butter, caramelized banana, brown sugar and pepper bacon). The sloppy joe and the jerk turkey sounded great too!
Fresh brewed coffee from D’Amico Coffee Roasters in Brooklyn, hot and iced teas, matcha, cold brews, cappuccinos and other café style drinks are available. Non-coffee drinkers who need an extra boost of caffeine can try the Red Bull Coolers with a fruity flavor added in (pictured below with blood orange). Or pick out a bottled juice, soda and water options.
