Avram Hornik reimagines his 14th establishment, Concourse Dance Bar. The seven year-old dance bar has undergone extensive renovations and added new elements, to create a new option for nightlife and private events in Center City. Avram says the re-design of Concourse is:
“A nightclub that could be described as an immersive nightlife experience that combines playful elements and sophisticated aesthetics. It’s a venue designed for adults to unleash their inner child, featuring a colorful ball pit for whimsical fun, an ice bar for a unique and visually striking drink experience, and interactive art exhibits that engage all the senses. It’s more than just a place to dance — it’s a blend of art, entertainment, and social interaction, creating a multi-sensory playground that redefines the traditional nightlife scene.”
The 15,000 square foot, two story venue is one of Philadelphia’s larger event spaces, with room for 1,400 for private events complete with concert-level speakers, a state-of-the-art light system, a spacious dancefloor, and second floor mezzanine. The vibe is playful. Upon arrival, guests can ride a twisty slide onto the dance floor.
Immerse yourself in a sensory driven experience as you sip cocktails in a room FILLED with Slinkys, or vibe upstairs in the cocktail lounge with friends. The re-design promises something for EVERYONE, and there are PLENTY of surprises at every corner.
The Instagram famous ball pit, known as the pool, is a feature of the space. Pool rules are posted, and no drinks are allowed, but 20 friends can frolic together amidst the bubble like balls, neon lighting and a wall sculpture made from styrofoam pool noodles. In the back bar, guests will find Philadelphia’s only ice bar. Artist Peter Slavin carved Philadelphia imagery into ice, complete with a picture of Flyers mascot Gritty. The bar is housed in a 1,000 square foot Ice Room. A dollhouse motif diorama has retro, millennial inspired vignettes, with a touch of innuendo. Behind the dollhouse, take a trip to the black lit Mushroom Room, complete with a six foot mushroom statue and neon lit plants. Vintage photobooth offers black and white photo strip mementos of the evening.
The design is created by locals Valerie Teachout, and Jill Keys of Extrablonde Events.
The casual, laid back–Concourse Dance Bar does not have a dress code and does not offer bottle service. Rotating guest DJs play a variety of throwback tunes from the 80s, 90s, and 00s. Private parties, group reservations, and drink packages are available by contacting info@concoursedancebar.com.
