Independence Beer Garden opens for its 9th season on April 12th

Independence Beer Garden, located just steps from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell (100 S. Independence Mall West), will reopen for the season on Wednesday, April 12. This expansive open-air space spans over 20,000 square feet with four unique seating areas featuring picnic tables, vintage garden chairs, and cozy Adirondack chairs, plus two bars, a large projector TV, and lots of games to play including giant Connect Four and Jenga, and Bagg-o. Guests may sip on refreshing signature drinks and local beers, and snack on new menu items while challenging friends to classic games, or simply relaxing and unwinding. Whichever is preferred, it’s an easy way to spend an entire day. Additionally, beginning the week after Memorial Day, live DJs will spin every Friday and Saturday and inspire one of the city’s best outdoor dance parties. 

The menu of classic American fare includes crowd favorites such as an Everything Pretzel Bites, Pickle ChipsBuffalo Cauliflower, a Double Cheeseburger and a Turkey BLT. A few new items that guests will surely begin to crave are the Mac & Cheese BitesSpicy Caesar Salad, the Impossible Chicken Sandwich, and the Lamb Pita. Pastry Chef Abby Dahan has expanded the dessert menu as well and new highlights include Watermelon Sherbert Push PopCinnamon-Sugar Pretzel with spiced chocolate, Funfetti Ice Cream Sandwich, and Caribou Crunch Popcorn with peanut, toffee, and marshmallow.  

Independence Beer Garden’s extensive beverage menu features 40 taps of regional and domestic craft beers, as well as wine, cocktails, seltzers, and non-alcoholic options. Independence Beer Garden is perfect for hosting events, whether guests are looking to mix and mingle around the space, or create a semi-private section for their group in one of the garden’s alcoves. The picnic-style menu is ideal for sharing among guests and is sure to complement any occasion.  

Hours of Operation: 

  • Wednesday and Thursday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., bar closes at 12 a.m. 
  • Friday from 3 p.m. to 12 a.m., bar closes at 2 a.m. 
  • Saturday from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m., bar closes at 2 a.m. 
  • Sunday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., bar closes at 12 a.m. 
  • Happy Hour is 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. daily. 
  • Closed Monday and Tuesday (after Memorial Day, IBG will open seven days)
