City Winery Holds Fundraiser for Black History Month with Special Shows

City Winery Philadelphia is making sure the February holidays are celebrated the right way with show offerings for Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras, and select shows to kick off their two-month fundraising initiative for Black History Month and Women’s History Month. 

At the start of the month, City Winery will be launching their two-month fundraiser for Black History Month in February and Women’ History Month in March. “Still I Rise” is the first part of the initiative, featuring several shows throughout February in which a portion of programming proceeds will be donated in honor of Black History Month. The three beneficiaries of “Still I Rise” are Black Feminist Future, Black Voters Matter, and In Our Own Voice. Participating shows include:

The end of February brings more exciting celebrations at City Winery Philadelphia including a special Mardi Gras show featuring Philly Gumbo on Saturday, February 18 at 7:30 p.m. Philly Gumbo has pioneered New Orleans Music and Mardi Gras celebrations in Philadelphia, thrilling audiences with their party-hearty, dance-inducing mix of New Orleans R&B, blues, funk, soul, and reggae for more than three decades.
