Skiing, sledding and more in Montco Parks:

Go cross-country skiing at Fort Washington State Park , where a 1.7-mile loop trail in the Militia Hill Day Use Area welcomes beginners and experts. That area is also home to a 400-foot slope for daring sledders and tubers. Other Montco parks with extensive cross-country skiing trails include Evansburg State Park , Lower Perkiomen Valley Park , a trailhead for numerous trails, and Lorimer Park , where you can also go sledding. For even more winter activities, visit Green Lane Park , which offers ice skating, cross-country skiing, and sledding. You can even bring along your fishing gear and enjoy ice fishing on Deep Creek Lake. 

Find Winter Fun at Local Attractions 

One of the most popular spots is Spring Mountain Adventures , which keeps its slopes snowy throughout the winter season so visitors can enjoy downhill skiing and snowboarding – even if it hasn’t snowed in days! If you’ve never gone skiing or snowboarding before, you’re in luck because Spring Mountain provides lessons for beginners, and you can rent all the equipment you need on-site, including snow boots and helmets. 

For a day of ice skating and/or hockey, head to Oaks Center Ice , Montco’s number one skating spot, which features three NHL-sized rinks. You can rent skates or bring your own, and sign up for hockey and ice-skating lessons. Oaks Center Ice also has daily public skate times for skaters of all ages and skillsets.
