Spataro’s Cheesesteaks, the 75-year-old cheesesteak brand located inside the iconic Reading Terminal Market, is adding something brand new to their menu to help raise money for victims of domestic violence. Now through October 15th, Owner Alex Spataro will be offering his new Pink Cheesesteak at Spataro’s, which will feature pink cheese wiz on the famous Philly sandwich.

Using white American cheese and pink food coloring to create the bright pink hue, Spataro will be selling the pink steaks for $15 apiece, with proceeds benefiting A Woman’s Place, the only domestic violence community benefit organization in Bucks County.

Founded in 1976, A Woman’s Place provides a full range of programs, services and counseling to individuals experiencing domestic violence, their children, and the community. Learn more at http://awomansplace.org.

“Right now, there are so many women in America facing so many different issues, and domestic violence is one that never goes away,” said Spataro. “One of the most dangerous times in a woman’s life is when she is pregnant. It can even be a primary catalyst for abuse. In these ensuing months, organizations like A Woman’s Place will be critical in protecting the lives and well-being of women and children nationwide. Women in crisis need to have a place to turn when all other options are exhausted.”

Spataro’s, which opened in 1947, is located within the heart of Reading Terminal Market just under the red neon Liberty Bell sign. The business is open Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn more by visiting http://readingterminalmarket.org/merchant/spataros-cheesesteaks.
