James Beard award-winner and Iron Chef Jose Garces announces the grand opening of Buena Onda Rittenhouse (114 S. 20th Street) tomorrow, Friday, August 12th at 11:00am. The location will debut with a ceremony to cut a giant two-foot long burrito, followed by free chips and salsa all day at this and the Fairmount location (up to at least 200 people per location while supplies last).
Buena Onda is Chef’s famed taqueria that is inspired by the spirit and good vibes of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula. The Rittenhouse location represents a new eatery and brand in the neighborhood, but it also represents the first new location to open as part of a national expansion that will include this location tomorrow, a new Main Line location in Radnor in September, and then locations across America through a new franchise partnership of the Philly-born culinary brand. For the new Buena Onda Rittenhouse, look for seating inside and outdoor seating for 48 people. The location will have the first new Buena Onda marketplace inside the fast-casual eatery, plus it will serve new dishes such as K-38 Burritos, Kale and Mushroom Burrito Bowls, Kale and Mushroom Tacos and more.
Celebrate tomorrow with a free chips and salsa giveaway, plus the public is invited to come watch the burrito cutting ceremony with Chef and local dignitaries.
