North Bowl (909 N 2nd Street) is a multi-faceted bowling alley and event venue opened in 2006 in the heart of Northern Liberties. The 17,000-square-foot bi-level space was a former auto mechanic’s garage renovated into a stylish retro bowling space. North Bowl boasts 17 lanes (13 on the first floor and four on the mezzanine level), two full-sized bars, multiple lounges, and a third seasonal outdoor bar, the “Lot Bar,” with a seating area and a large projector screen perfect for game days. A highlight of the facility is its extensive mix of games, from billiard tables to retro arcade games, including five rotating pinball machines, two billiards tables, foosball, air hockey, and bubble hockey. Guests can also capture their visit to North Bowl with a photo strip from the vintage photo booth. With everything North Bowl offers, it is the perfect place to avoid the heat on a hot summer day.
North Bowl utilizes state-of-the-art Qubica A.M.F. bowling lanes with B.E.S. X, the latest bowler entertainment and scoring systems technology. The first level features 13 lanes, used for regular and league play. Each lane can host up to six players and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Want to take the kids bowling? North Bowl offers optional bumpers and the necessary equipment to help get the ball rolling for little ones.
The facility offers a private four-lane bowling alley on the mezzanine level for larger groups looking for a more intimate experience. All areas of North Bowl, including the entirety of the building, are available for event rentals, including birthday parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, corporate events, fundraisers, weddings, baby showers, and holiday parties.
Ready to take bowling more seriously? Consider joining a league! Leagues run Monday through Thursday nights, starting at 6:30 p.m. Teams consist of up to six players, with four bowlers per game and bowl three games a night. Register for leagues here. In addition to league play, bowlers can enjoy “Late Night Wednesdays” at 10 p.m. with a live DJ and specials, including $3 bowling and shoe rentals.
In addition to “Late Night Wednesdays,” DJs entertain guests on Friday and Saturday nights on the main floor. Patrons are sure to work up an appetite between bowling, dancing, and gaming. North Bowl’s kitchen and bar offer a menu featuring elevated pub fare ranging from burgers, wings, and tacos. The menu also highlights loaded tater tots, including Mazel Tots with house-made apple butter, sour cream, and chives, Spanish Tots with fried onions, jalapenos, and paprika aioli, and Wake N’ Bacon Tots complete with an over-easy egg and smoked bacon. Salads and vegetarian options range from a vegan BLAT, veggie wings, to cauliflower Al Pastor tacos.

North Bowl is open Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 5 p.m. to midnight, Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Friday from 5 p.m. to midnight, Saturday from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m., and Sunday from 2 p.m. to midnight. A parent or guardian must accompany children under the age of 18. After 9 p.m., North Bowl is 21 and older. There is street parking available throughout Northern Liberties.
