Just opened and worth the drive for a night out of the city- Twenty One Pips in Ardmore is a brand new space from the owners of Thirsty Dice as they bring board games to the Main Line for all ages and skill levels. With walls of games, plus some nostalgia in Skeeball and Pong as you walk in, you can easily spend hours playing classic favorites or trying something new.

This is just a sample of the 500 board and card games you can enjoy at Twenty One Pips. For a $5 fee, you’ll get two hours of play and access to every game in the restaurant. Not sure what you want? Need help with the rules? Just ask a Gametender and they’ll help you out. We settled on some family classics like Connect Four, Trouble and Candy Land. We were also happy to see Animal Upon Animal, a fun Jenga-like stacking game that we’ve played before.

The menu isn’t just simple bar food. Though the burgers were great! You’ll find charcuterie boards, mussels, roasted chicken (the pommes puree was so good, I highly recommend this), spaghetti with vegan meatballs, salads, flatbreads and more to come. The kids selections (aka the Pipsqueaks) have standard favorites like cheeseburgers, pizza and chicken fingers, and even a gluten free grilled chicken option.

Of course a couple rounds of your favorite game can’t be complete without a beverage in hand. Twenty One Pips has some very creative seasonal and signature cocktails as well as mocktails, beer, wine, spirits, coffees, teas and soft drinks.

Carrie the Team (citron vodka, cranberry gin liqueur, mandarin orange liqueur, lime)

Twenty One Pips is also a perfect quick stop for nearby business owners and residents that need grab-and-go option. Coffee and baked goods are available Monday to Friday (7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.), Saturday (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.), Sunday (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.). The restaurant is open Monday to Thursday (11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.), Friday (11:30 a.m. to 12 a.m.), Saturday (11 a.m. to 12 a.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)

Thanks for a great family night out, Twenty One Pips! We’ll be back for more cocktails, Skeeball, and to definitely play this Titanic game!
