Theater Unspeakable and Let’s Make History Productions are proud to announce the arrival of the critically-acclaimed theater show The American Revolution to Philadelphia from June 28 through July 3. The American Revolution provides a family-friendly retelling of the country’s founding, combining tongue-in-cheek humor with imaginative physical theater in under 60 minutes.

Seven actors fuse unique staging, physical comedy, and tongue-in-cheek humor to offer a comprehensive,  historical experience. The signature of Theater Unspeakable’s work is big stories in small spaces. Just two  feet off the ground, performers share 21 square feet of space to recreate the American fight for  independence from Lexington to Yorktown. Actors use their bodies, voices, and (pantomimed) cannons to  reenact a critical period in American history.

The American Revolution returns to Philadelphia after a popular 2017 run at the Arden Theater. “We are  very excited to bring the show back to Philadelphia, the birthplace of American history,” said Marc Frost,  Producing Artistic Director at Theater Unspeakable. “We hope visitors and locals will enjoy this  educational, engaging, and creative new spin on the American Revolution.”

The show will occur in the heart of Historic Philadelphia at the Christ Church Neighborhood House. The  150-person venue is a short walk from Independence Hall and adjacent to the historic Christ Church, the  birthplace of the American Episcopal Church, founded in 1695. Known as “The Nation’s Church,” Christ  Church hosted members of the Continental Congress during the American Revolution and Presidents  George Washington and John Adams in the first decade of the newly established Republic. Benjamin and Deborah Franklin, Betsy Ross, and signers of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence were  early members.

Additionally, leading up to the Philadelphia Christ Church Neighborhood House shows, three free  performances will take place at the Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge National Historical Park (2000 Valley Forge Park Road, King of Prussia, PA). Presented by The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board, the shows will run on June 18 at 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. and on June 25 at 3:30 p.m., followed by a free hour-long family-friendly theater workshop led by Frost and company at 4:45 p.m.

The American Revolution is directed by Marc Frost and features local actors Myriam Bloom, Brooke Shilling,  Craig Storrod, Connor Hogan, Frankie Ferrari, Dreland Goar, and Kiersten M. Adams.
