With Cinco de Mayo and Mother’s Day coming up, we’ve been seeing a lot of great events and specials worth visiting in the city! Cinco de Mayo
Manatawny Still Works will celebrate the release of their newest gin aged in tequila barrels on Cinco de Mayo at their East Passyunk tasting room from 5 – 10pm. They’ll be serving up cocktails featuring the new gin and churros with chocolate and dulce de leche.
To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Revolution Taco will offer one-day-only items including a Chicken Chorizo Queso Fundido ($5.55), Mango Lychee Margarita Mixer ($4.99, bring your own tequila), and a complimentary Michelada for dine-in orders (offered all day, one per customer) with a $10 purchase.
Sor Ynez will host a Cinco de Mayo on celebration on May 5th sponsored by 1800 Tequila from 4 – 9pm with live music, food and drink specials, and a snow cone machine – making both boozy and non-alcoholic cones! There will be live jazz music with Larry Toft from 5 – 6pm, followed by a set by DJ XTINA from 6 – 9pm. Food and drink specials will be available all day. They will offer a Carnitas Platter with pickled vegetables, pinto beans, tortillas, cilantro, lime, and habanero salsa and a vegan Coli-Asada which is a cauliflower steak grilled and served with black refried beans and a creamy almond arbol pepper salsa.
The Goat Rittenhouse will feature Cadillac Margaritas during happy hour for the first week of May for $9.
Vintage Wine Bar & Bistro will have $10 Munted Margaritas on special (tequila, New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, grapefruit, lime) on Cinco de Mayo.
Mother’s Day
Heritage will host Mother’s Day brunch from 11am – 3pm with live music by pianist and jazz singer Shayne Frederick. They will offer a mimosa kit for $45 which includes a bottle of sparkling wine, and a choice of two juices (cranberry, grapefruit, orange or peach juice). Along with the regular brunch menu, they will have several specials for the day including Heritage Benedict-prosciutto, Classic Eggs Benedict and Florentine Benedict-spinach with Canadian ham, Salmon Benedict, Crab Benedict, and a vegetarian Avocado Benedict.
Prime Rib at Live! Casino & Hotel will host a special Mother’s Day brunch with a menu of fresh seafood, prime meats, eggs, and brioche French toast. Menu highlights include selections like the Lobster BLT Sandwich, Prime Rib French Dip and vegetable-based Skillet Frittata with marinated artichokes, onions, heirloom grape tomatoes, asparagus, pickled red onions, microgreens, and toasted pine nuts. The extensive cocktail list includes an epic build-your-own Bloody Mary, with add-ons like crab legs, shrimp, cheese stuffed peppers, bacon, caviar or crab stuffed olives, and more.
Sor Ynez will have two specials on the menu for Mother’s Day, with both a meat-based and vegan option. They will offer a Carnitas Platter with pickled vegetables, pinto beans, tortillas, cilantro, lime, and habanero salsa and a vegan Coli-Asada which is a cauliflower steak grilled and served with black refried beans and a creamy almond arbol pepper salsa.
The Goat Rittenhouse will have brunch from 11am – 3pm with specials including Salmon Avocado Salad, Quiche 2-ways, wine spritzers and rose, plus personal cheesecake on the menu for dessert.
