Tiny Dynamite is bringing a cozy outdoor experience to Philadelphia this Valentine’s Day weekend, popping up in a carefully-curated and heated tent in the gorgeous Powel House gardens (244 S 3rd Street, Philadelphia). The limited engagement Valentine’s Day event will run for three days only — February 12-14, 2022 — with showings starting at 6:30PM each evening.
“Tiny Dynamite is looking forward to welcoming new audiences for this unique Valentine’s Day pop-up experience,” notes Producing Artistic Director Kathryn MacMillan. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the winter season and our organization’s mission to be ‘brilliantly casual’ than with this first-of-its-kind event.”
Located at the historic Powel House gardens in the Society Hill section of Philadelphia, Tiny Dynamite will build a warm and welcoming winter wonderland inside a heated and open-air tent. Inside, guests will enjoy a hot cocoa bar, various hot and cold beverages (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), snacks, and more cozy accoutrement. Admission also includes a Valentine’s Day-themed theatrical show, including specially-curated stories, poetry, and tweets about modern love — the good, the bad, and the hilarious.
The Valentine’s Day event takes place under the banner of Tiny Dynamite’s A Play, a Pie, and a Pint, a unique theatrical experience where each moderately priced ticket includes a performance, food, and beverage. A Play, a Pie, and a Pint starts early, keeps costs low, and meets audiences where they are by moving productions around the city.
Admission to the pop-up is $25 per person and includes the show, snacks, and one alcoholic beverage. To protect audiences and artists, there is limited availability for the event, and proof of full vaccination will be required at time of entry. Guests should bring a vaccine card or a clear picture of it and an ID. Additionally, Tiny Dynamite will have a COVID-19 compliance officer on site to ensure the highest standards of safety and cleanliness. Additionally, because the event is tented there will be no rain dates. Tickets and more information at https://tinydynamite.org.
