Peddler’s Village, a landmark shopping, dining, and entertainment destination in the heart of historic Bucks County, PA, will kick off its 42nd annual Scarecrows in the Village display on Monday, September 6. The property-wide display of scarecrows created by individuals and businesses throughout the greater Philadelphia region will continue through Saturday, October 30th. On September 11, 12, 18, and 25, visit the Village for scarecrow-making workshops, pumpkin painting, live entertainment, and more. Admission and parking for Scarecrows in the Village is free. Scarecrows in the Village
The 42nd annual Scarecrows in the Village display in Peddler’s Village will showcase more than 100 creative, colorful, larger-than-life scarecrows created by the public. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to submit an entry, which is eligible for a prize. Entry forms for Scarecrows in the Village are available at PeddlersVillage.com or at the Hospitality Center at Cock ‘n Bull and are due by Wednesday, September 1. Scarecrows must be dropped off on September 5 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. This year, the categories include: Traditional, Quite the Character, Thrills with Chills, Myth & Lore, Upcycled Crow, Pink Out!, and Kids Only! Scarecrow.
Through October 11, Peddler’s Village guests will be able to vote for their favorites, choosing the winners in each category. Ballots will be available in all shops and restaurants, the Hospitality Center at Cock ‘n Bull, Giggleberry Fair, and through the Peddler’s Village mobile app. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, third, and fourth place, plus two honorable mentions. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place in the Kids Only category. The grand prize winner will receive $350 and dinner for four at the Cock ‘n Bull. Other cash prizes, up to $500, will be awarded.
Scarecrow-making workshops, live entertainment, children’s activities, including pumpkin painting, will take place on Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12, as well as on two subsequent Saturdays: September 18 and 25. Fall-themed food and drinks will be available from the Water Wheel Food Tent as well as restaurants and eateries throughout the Village.
The scarecrow-making workshops will be held on September 11, 12, 18, and 25 on the Street Road Green at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. Peddler’s Village will provide step-by-step instructions and a pre-made kit to help visitors create fun, unique, and life-sized scarecrows to take home and display. All scarecrow-building materials are included in the $35 (+ tax) fee, with a maximum of 6 people per scarecrow. Pre-registration is strongly recommended as space is limited.
