The Lamberti family is known for many restaurants in our area- Caffe Aldo Lamberti, Positano Coast, Tutti Toscani, Aldo Lamberti Trattoria…and even Palat in Miami. Unfortunately they had to close one of their spots, Pizza Fresca, when the pandemic hit and foot traffic from nearby businesses disappeared. Now, with Philadelphia slowly returning to normal and businesses opening up again, the family Lamberti Pizza and Market is here with an array of quick meals for dine in or to go! Many area businesses shifted gears to sell their products in new ways during stay at home orders. The Lamberti family realized that their dishes worked well for the take out concept, so their new restaurant, Lamberti Pizza and Market, caters to people who love a delicious homemade meal without all the fuss!
With a focus on a huge variety of pizzas, Italian entrees and sandwiches, you won’t have a hard time finding something to please your taste buds…but you will have a hard time deciding what to order! Eat in with a slice or two- mix and match! Or grab a freshly made chicken or pasta entrée, sandwiches, paninis and so much more. There are house made desserts and premade Italian sweets too. If you don’t want to dine in (there is a big eating space with high tops as you walk in and even more tables in the back), the grab and go section is amazing. More on that later…
It was hard to choose what to eat for dinner last night, but I went with classic pepperoni pizza (because my picky two-year-old joined me), a fried chicken sandwich (but I’m coming back for the roast pork), and the cauliflower mac and cheese made with penne pasta and packed with veggies.
The refrigerated grab-and-go section was incredible. After dinner, we carefully decided on some food to take home- meatballs, chicken parmesan, broccoli rabe and a slice of tres leches cake! This is perfect for anyone heading home from work that still has to pick up something for dinner. Or maybe you’re working nearby and you only have a few minutes before needing to get back to your desk. Along with all of the hot items you can get to eat in or wrapped to go, you can also pick up packaged (and fresh!) soups, salads, entrees, handmade pastas that are prepared or ready-to-cook, homemade sauces, vegetable sides, breads, sweets and more. The restaurant also carries their own private label extra virgin olive oil, and will continue to expand their selections of dried pasta, meats and cheeses, Italian cookies and snacks.
Lamberti Pizza and Market is also the ideal spot to grab some meals to enjoy at one of our city’s parks or before heading to a party (don’t go empty handed!). And when theatres open up again- both the Walnut Street Theatre and Arden are nearby- you can enjoy an easy meal before the curtain rises. It’s also family friendly, of course, and RowHome Rowan approved.
RowHome is all about family owned businesses and food. And we know our readers are too. So head to Chestnut and 7th to visit the Lamberti family’s new spot. Founder/CEO Aldo Lamberti immigrated to this country in 1963. Lamberti Pizza and Market is an homage to humble beginnings and a toast to the future of this family of restaurants. More details and a full menu can be found on their website. You will not be disappointed!
