The new American Express lounge will make you never want to leave the airport. Yes, it is that nice, comfortable, and…delicious. The Centurion Lounge, as it is called, is the eighth U.S location and features Israeli-inspired food by award winning Philadelphia chef Michael Solomonov.
The signature lounge program provides Platinum and Centurion Card members a little bit of a get away before even setting foot on the plane. The decor is simple, yet elegant and has art depicting the people and places unique to Philly.
Like the decor, the food and drinks are Philadelphia-inspired. The stuffed bell peppers are to die for! Of course the food is delicious. What else would you expect from Solomonov? The man behind Federal Donuts, Dizengoff, Goldie, Rooster Soup Co., and Zahav brings his famous hummus to the lounge. Israeli dishes make going to the waiting area a real treat because it is unexpected in a Philadelphia airport. Instead of cheese steaks or crab fries, you have puff pastry stuffed with feta and kale or grilled chicken kabobs.
Besides the great photos of famous Philadelphians and the tasty food, the seating area where practically every seat has it’s own USB port and charging station is the best part of the area. The space also features a little library of luxury travel magazines for patrons to skim through while they wait for the rest of their journey to begin.
The whole experience was luxury at the airport, the place you would least find luxury and the place you want it the most. Those who will be using the lounge will find a restful, peaceful spot to hang their hat and charge their phones.
You can find the Centurion lounge located at Terminal A-East in departures.
