Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia, the upscale lifestyle hotel nestled in bustling Rittenhouse Square, is getting holiday shopping out of the way early with its first ever Holiday Night Market, slated for Wednesday, November 20 from 5:30 pm to 9 pm, featuring a mix of local makers, live music, festive cocktails, and more. Additionally, Hyatt Centric’s Maker Series, an ongoing showcase of rotating art exhibits by local creatives and makers, continues with Philadelphia-based artist Jessie Husband, whose notable Philadelphia Neighborhood Maps will be on display and on sale at Hyatt Centric starting on November 20 with an opening reception in conjunction with the Night Market.

Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia’s brand ethos and design inspiration is strongly influenced by its connection to the city and celebrating Philadelphia’s diverse neighborhoods, traditions, and the makers. The Holiday Night Market is designed to highlight a mix of the city’s talented small businesses and artists. Locals and travelers alike can visit Hyatt Centric on Wednesday, November 20 from 5:30 pm – 9 pm and to peruse the extensive display of locally-made offerings for sale, including jewelry, skincare products, ceramics, vintage goods, and more in the second floor lobby and Jackson Room.

“We’ve had a lot of success with craft markets in the past, and this time around we’re turning up the volume,” said Elizabeth Fricke, Director of Sales & Marketing at Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia. “Amplified by festive décor, live music, and Holiday themed cocktails from Patchwork, the market will be much closer to a holiday party than a simple gift shopping event.”

The event will be set to the vocal stylings of Alyssa Marie, with Patchwork Restaurant & Bar rolling out or festive cocktails, including a Peppermint White Russian, Gold Rush, Pomegranate Martini, and Cranberry Mimosa, all available for purchase at the bar. Attendees can expect a diverse collection of local vendors at the Holiday Night Market including (but not limited to) the following:

  • Elizabeth Peyton Creations – an all-natural skin care company by Elizabeth Payton that focuses organic ingredients used to cleanse and heal one’s skin
  • G + RIZZ – minimalist holiday cards and stickers perfect for any occasion, co-headed by Rachel Scarborough
  • Buddha Babe – accessories for babies, toddlers and the home by Tina Dixon Spence
  • Elektra Vintage – one-of-a-kind special pieces ranging from fashion and accessories to fun home decor and quirky collectibles
  • Gabrielle Silverlight – handmade ceramics from Philadelphia based artist Gabrielle Silverlight
  • Piggyback Treats Company – sustainably sourced pet treats created by a pastry chef
  • Project Joy Studio – paintings by local artist and designer Joy London
  • Little Lau Shop – small batch and handmade ceramics by local mixed media artist Nikki Lau
  • Zach Layhew Art – practical home wares and glass sculptures by glass artist and instructor Zach Layhew
  • Maureen Duffy Jewelry – versatile jewelry and accessories by metalsmith and jewelry designer Maureen Duffy

The hotel is ushering in the holiday season with the next installment of its Maker Series, showcasing collections from local artists and makers. Contemporary artist Jessie Husband will display her latest works at the hotel from November 11 through mid-January, and will also be a featured vendor at the Holiday Night Market. Husband, renowned for her whimsical depictions of Philadelphia neighborhoods and popular metro destinations like the Jersey Shore, incorporates local history, landmarks, parks, and playful cartoons into her map illustrations, even reflecting debates over neighborhood boundaries.

“I love Philly, and it’s often referred to as the city of neighborhoods,” said Husband. “The maps I draw are like timestamps, and I think it will be interesting to see how the neighborhoods change over time. I have illustrated about 14 Philly neighborhood maps but there are still so many more to do, so the series is continually growing!”

Husband’s work will be available for purchase during the event and post-reception, and additional information can be found by clicking here.
