The Twisted Tail, the popular Southern-inspired restaurant, bar and live Blues joint nestled in Headhouse Square, is hosting a fundraiser this Friday, November 8, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM to support the New Market & Head House Conservancy in its campaign to restore the historic Isaiah Lukens clock in the cupola of the Head House. This iconic clock has been non-functional for years, but with collective effort, it can be restored to its former glory.

Tickets for the event are $25, which includes food, and $1 from every drink purchased will go directly towards the fundraising goal. The Conservancy aims to raise $15,000 for this vital project, which is part of a larger initiative to restore and preserve the Head House. This historic structure is not only a key part of the community’s architectural heritage but also serves as a significant venue for events hosted by The Twisted Tail, including weddings and celebrations.

The clock is expected to be installed and operational by June 2025. Contributions of any size are welcome and appreciated. While awaiting the Conservancy’s 501(c)(3) status approval, tax-deductible donations can be made payable to The Society Hill Preservation Foundation, Attn: Save the Clock! Any funds raised beyond the clock fundraising goal will support the $1.5 million restoration of the Head House and Shambles.

George Reilly, owner of The Twisted Tail and Conservancy Board Member, is available for media inquiries or interview requests. George can provide unique insights into the significance of the Head House as both a community landmark and an essential venue for The Twisted Tail.

Tickets for the fundraiser can be purchased here. The Conservancy encourages everyone to come together to support this project and get the clock ticking again by next June.
