Famous 4th Street Delicatessen Celebrates Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur With Take-Away Holiday Packages!

Famous 4th Street Delicatessen, the historic Philadelphia eatery celebrated for its traditional Jewish deli fare and classic American comfort food, is a go-to destination for its hearty sit-down breakfasts, lunches, and brunches – and is equally beloved by locals for its wide-selection of freshly-prepared deli meats, baked goods, and fish platters for take-away. While its all-encompassing platters are available year-round, the deli is soon to celebrate the upcoming Jewish High Holy Days with a special Rosh Hashanah Dinner Package and Yom Kippur Break Fast Kit, each featuring a sweeping array of fixings perfect for honoring each holiday. 

Folks placing a take-away order for the Rosh Hashanah Dinner Package can celebrate the Jewish New Year – commencing in just a few weeks on Thursday, October 3 – by indulging in all the traditional accompaniments without the stress of preparation. The holiday package runs for $37 per person for take-away pre-orders with a 4 person minimum per order, and includes a choice of one starter with options including chopped liver, gefilte fish, or stuffed cabbage, and a choice of one main course with options such as chicken, brisket, chicken in the pot, stuffed cabbage, turkey, or a delicatessen platter. The Rosh Hashanah Dinner Package also comes with soup, pickles, challah (plain or raisin), rugalach (cookies), and two additional side dishes. Famous 4th Street Delicatessen will be open on the holiday for guests who wish to dine-in, offering the same package for $39 per person (no minimum per order).

Ten days following Rosh Hashanah marks Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar year, on Saturday, October 12. To culminate the holiday’s 25-hour long fast, Famous 4th Street Delicatessen will offer two Break Fast Kits, each boasting a wide array of nourishing Yom Kippur classics: 

• HALF-SIZED KIT: $165 per order (feeds 4-6 people) – includes 1/2 lb sliced nova, 1 lb whitefish salad, 1 lb cream cheese, 1 red tomato, 1 white onion, 1 cucumber, a small container of black olives, 1/2 lb kippered salmon, a choice of 1/2 lb Sweet Munster or Swiss, and a choice of 6 sliced bagels
• FULL-SIZED KIT: $280 per order (feeds 9-11 people) – includes 1 lb sliced nova or salty lox, 1 1/2 lb whitefish salad or whole whitefish, 1 1/2 lb cream cheese, 2 red tomatoes, 1 white onion, 1 cucumber, a pint of black olives, 1 lb kippered salmon, a choice of 3/4 lb Sweet Munster or Swiss, and a choice of 10 sliced bagels 

Orders for the Yom Kippur Break Fast Kit must be placed by 2pm on Wednesday, October 9, and any changes or cancellations must be placed by then. All orders should be picked up by 5pm on Friday, October 11, as Famous 4th Street Delicatessen will be closed on Saturday, October 12 for the holiday.
