Red Owl Tavern Debuts New “Smoked Out Saturdays” this 4th of July Weekend

Red Owl Tavern, the contemporary kitchen and bar located across from Independence Hall in Old City, is thrilled to announce the launch of ‘Smoked Out Saturdays’, a sizzling summer-inspired series featuring a rotating lineup of bbq specialties, kicking off on Saturday, July 6th in conjunction with Independence Day weekend. Running through Saturday, September 7th, this weekly event will run from 10am until sell out. 

On Saturday, July 6th, the first-ever ‘Smoked Out Saturdays’, perfectly timed for the Fourth of July weekend, will feature a signature Brisket Sandwich ($19), served with crispy fried onions, jalapeños, and Bama white BBQ Sauce. Additionally, in line with the holiday weekend, imbibers can pair their BBQ with featured spirited sippers: the Watermelon Rickey ($17) made with NO.3 Gin, watermelon, lime, Sicilian lemon Fever Tree soda, and a Pimm’s float, and the Declaration of Spritz ($16) featuring strawberry-infused Aperol, prosecco, soda, lemon, and a peaflower and elderflower mixed gin float.

July 13th Dry Rubbed Chicken Wings ($15) pickled carrots, buttermilk ranch

July 20th 3-Meat Combo (MP) Pulled Pork, Smoked Turkey + Chicken Wings potato salad, jalapeño-cheddar cornbread

July 27th Smoked + Pulled Chicken Sandwich ($17) blackened ranch slaw, Fishtown Pickles

August 3rd Spicy Korean Smoked Pork Sandwich ($16) marinated cucumbers, kimchi slaw, Gochujang BBQ

August 10th Smoked Turkey Sandwich ($16) Duke’s Mayo, Jersey tomatoes, Benton’s Bacon, housemade brioche

August 17th Ribs (Half or Full Rack) (MP) served with sweet bbq, slaw, mac n cheese

August 24th Peruvian Smoked Half Chicken ($20) fries, slaw, green sauce 

August 31st Smoked Pit Beef Sandwich ($18) raw onion, Tavern Sauce, hatch chile queso

September 7th 3-Meat Combo (MP) Brisket, Ribs, Jalapeño-Cheddar Sausage potato salad, spicy pickles, cornbread 

Throughout the entirety of ‘Smoked Out Saturdays’, families dining in Red Owl Tavern can opt for a complimentary kids hot dog meal with purchase of any BBQ selection. Reservations can be made via OpenTable. 

Hours of operation: Monday through Friday 7:30 – 10:45am, Saturday and Sunday 8 – 10am (breakfast); Monday through Friday 11:30am – 4:30pm (lunch); Monday through Friday 4:30 – 10pm, Saturday 5 – 10pm (dinner); and Saturday 10am – 4pm and Sunday 10am – 2pm (brunch).
