Jansen Debuts New Summer Menus and Launches Lush Patio for the Warm-Weather Season

Jansen, Mt. Airy’s contemporary and award-winning New American restaurant by Chef David Jansen, is set to captivate locals and food enthusiasts near and far this season with an all-new summer dinner menu, curated by Chef Jansen and team. Launching this month, Jansen’s seasonal dinner and cocktail program coincides with the rollout of the restaurant’s bucolic back patio providing extensive seating, private dinner space, and lounge area perfect for summer dining and imbibing. Revered for its innovative, meticulously crafted New American cuisine, Jansen’s spacious and inviting patio boasts seating for 30 guests on the main patio, along with eight additional seats presented as a semi-private dining experience, and lounge seating around the perimeter. This arrangement is complemented by a backdrop of greenery and florals, making it ideal for enjoying the ever-evolving menu of imaginative fare, global wines, and thoughtful cocktails al fresco during the spring and summer months.

Jansen’s new seasonal dinner menu boasts a diverse selection of modern New American cuisine. New for the season is Jansen’s Dover Sole Table-side Service for Two, available Thursday through Saturday, served with truffle fumé cream and seasonal accompaniments – Jansen’s seasonal answer to the restaurant’s beloved Beef Wellington for Two served in the fall and winter, and critically-acclaimed by Philadelphia Inquirer food critic Craig LaBan. 

Additional highlights from the new summer menu include the following: 

·     Heirloom Tomato Panzanella Salad ($20): burrata, fried green tomato, focaccia croutons baby gem, green goddess dressing, basil puree

·       Tuna Bon Bon ($20): avocado, plum aioli, watercress purée, red pepper threads, tempura crunch

·       Sauteed Mahi Mahi ($38):  lobster fontina pierogi, braised cabbage, spring onion lobster soubise

·       Braised Lamb Shank ($38): cavatelli, ramp pesto, pickled ramps, vegetable printanier, lamb jus

·       Grilled Branzino ($40): sweet corn purée, parsley cream, butter poached lobster

·    Tomato Risotto ($30): oven dried tomatoes, English peas, roasted garlic. pine nuts, arugula salad, shaved parmesan, pistou

“We’re thrilled to welcome guests to dine on our beautiful back patio to enjoy our new seasonal dishes,” Jansen said. “Of course, our dining rooms in our 18th century cottage home are ready to seat guests who prefer to dine indoors on warm nights.” 

Imbibers can look forward to an extensive selection of expertly curated cocktails to pair with their dishes such as the Yuzu Ginger Sour (ginger whiskey, yuzu, angostura bitters, luxardo, cherry, candied ginger garnish); Plum 75 (Averell Damson Plum Gin, lemon, prosecco); Drumshanbo Sour (Drumshanbo, gin, lemon verbena, syrup, lemon, and egg white); Beet Down (Corralejo Añejo, velvet falernum, beet juice, lime, habanero tincture); and St. George in a Bluecoat (Bluecoat Gin, St. George Basil Brandy, strawberry lime basil shrub).
