The Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation (SROCF) is returning to the Jersey Shore for their 8th annual Sandy Sprint Sea Isle City 5K and Family Fun Walk on Saturday, July 20, 2024. The event will take place in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, at Excursion Park (2 41st St, Sea Isle City, NJ 08243) starting at 8 a.m.

SROCF has hosted a Sandy Sprint for the past 20 years in Philadelphia and brought the event to the Jersey Shore eight years ago to help spread awareness and to create a space for more women and families affected by ovarian cancer to connect and form a community. Sandy Sprints are filled with action, hope, and connection.

The event includes the 5K Run, a Family Fun Walk, a Survivor Ceremony, and more. PHL17 Meteorologist, Monica Cryan, will be hosting the event. Recording artist, songwriter, and the Philadelphia Union’s National Anthem vocalist, Ashli Rice, will be performing the National Anthem and a special second musical performance. All families, runners, and walkers in attendance are invited to a post-race party in Sea Isle (location is to be announced).

Race day registration will begin at 7:15 a.m., the 5K at 8:30 a.m., and the Family Fun Walk at 8:35 a.m. There will be a reward ceremony after the run/walk. Currently, registration fees are $40 for adults and $30 for children under 12 but will increase on July 10, 2024, to $45 for adults and $35 for children under 12.
