Evil Genius Beer Company celebrates Pride Month with the release of a special Pride Month Love is Love Charity Beer, plus the Philadelphia brewer announces a full line-up of events for the month of June. The return of this special limited edition Pride beer release #loveislove is an exclusive Strawberry Blonde Ale (6% ABV) that is crisp with a hint of natural strawberry flavor. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of #LoveisLove will be donated to The Trevor Project, a national, non-profit organization that provides resources to at-risk LGBTQIA+ youth.
The Pride Beer will debut on Saturday, June 1st during the Love is Love Pride Block Party at Evil Genius, with the street shut down outside the Lab at 1727 N. Front Street. The event will run from 12:00pm to 6:00pm, with live music from local rock band Dear Zoe and fresh eats from Daddy’s Food Truck.
Guests can also shop a variety of local LGBTQIA+ owned and operated vendors including Wildcraft Print Shop’s folklore inspired block prints. Them’s Earrings and Alien Bratz will be selling unique, handmade jewelry. The Beat in Between will be offering artivist goods including prints and shirts. Bold and Broad will be vending philly centric, empowering designs and candles. Shop Later Dudes will also be offering a selection of carefully curated vintage goods. During June, Evil Genius will also pay homage to gay icons of music with drag brunches on June 9, 21 and 30, featuring music and performances celebrating Taylor Swift, Kesha and more. Evil Genius’ #LoveisLove Block Party will take place on the 1700 block of N. Front St. in Fishtown, outside of their taproom (1727 N. Front St). The event is no charge to attend, with food and drink pay-as-you-go. The block party is family and pet friendly so be sure to bring the whole crew out for the day.
Their beer for a cause, “#LoveisLove,” will begin rolling out to local bottle shops the first week of June and will be listed for sale for about $12.99 per six pack. Kegged beer is also available for bars and restaurants.
