Butcher Bar, 2034 Chestnut St., the Rittenhouse hub for American comfort food, grilled fare, and an expansive brown spirits collection, is thrilled to announce its brand-new lunch service – officially returning for the first time since 2020! The reinvigorated menu boasts fresh salads, several hearty sandwiches, steaks, a beer-and-burger special dubbed the Hoppy Meal, and more. Lunch service is available effective immediately Wednesday through Friday from 11:30am – 3 pm. Reservations are encouraged but not required.
The Rittenhouse bar and restaurant, beloved since opening in 2016 and recently celebrated for its viral ‘Top it Off’ Brunch, offers lunch options ranging from lighter bites and shareable sides to stacked sandwiches and, of course, strip steak and ribeye – making Butcher Bar the ideal locale for everything from corporate lunch meetings big and small, to a casual bite, beer or cocktail between friends and family exploring Center City, to post-graduation (or other celebratory event) festivities. Parties looking to reserve space for group or corporate events packages can reach out to events@anni-restaurants.com to book.
“We’re stoked to be bringing back lunch for the first time since the pandemic,” noted Chef John Strain, who has been Executive Chef since the restaurant’s opening. “With more and more Center City offices re-opening, we’re happy to fill that need for a quality lunch that doesn’t skip on flavor, portion size, or fun.”
Highlights from the Butcher Bar lunch menu include the comforting Smashed Meatball and Spaghetti Sub ($15), served with pork ragu and provolone atop a toasted garlic bread roll, a stacked House Smoked Turkey Club ($17) towering with layers of lettuce, tomato, applewood smoked bacon and rosemary aioli on crispy, toasted sourdough, and the Bang Bang Shrimp Salad Bowl ($15) made with baby arugula and iceberg lettuce, shaved red onion, carrots, candied cashews, and finished with Poi Dog Chili Peppah Water aioli and ginger dressing. In addition, Butcher Bar is introducing Hoppy Hour, where burger stans can dig into a Hoppy Meal consisting of a single-patty royale burger and fries, accompanied by an ice-cold Love City Lager, for $15 — available Sunday through Friday from 3 to 4pm.
While enjoying lunch service, guests can tap into Butcher Bar’s beverage menu, featuring 16 beers on tap (for example: My Local Brew Works Belgium Citrus Wit, St. Boniface Coffee Amber Lager, Tonewood Halcyun IPA), 6 draught wines, (notably a Rare Pinot Noir and Nobilo Sauvignon Blanc) 13 options for wines by-the-glass, and a wide offering of signature cocktails and seasonal varieties including the uber-popular Butterfly Effect ($14) built using tequila, lemon, pineapple, orange liqueur, topped with butterfly pea flower tea; a spicy Westside of Broad ($14) crafted with gin, jalapeño, lime, cucumber and lavender; and the satisfying Johnny Two Step ($15), comprised of bourbon, cardamaro, lemon, pomegranate, and honey.
