New spring menu offerings at Frame in Old City!

Spring means warmer weather, fresh and seasonal ingredients, and cocktails that make you feel like you’re on the beach. While this week calls for clouds and rain, a night out at Frame in Old City to try some of their spring menu items might be a good idea to hype you up for sunnier days.

The menu is filled with starters that are perfect for sharing and are light to compliment the generous dinner portions. We started with the chef’s choice seasonal salad and crispy rice tuna. I will always order a fresh tuna dish when it’s on the menu, and Frame also has a Tataki tuna that I need to get next time!

And this stripped bass is one of the best dishes I’ve had recently. It’s served on a bed of mashed potatoes and asparagus, with crab meat and covered in a lemon butter garlic sauce.

Another great entree option- the lollipop lamb chops. These are also served over mashed potatoes (they’re excellent!) with broccolini.

The menu also includes a pasta of the week, burgers, chicken dishes and a few other new seasonal items that we were tempted to try:

Sirloin Steak Oscar– Crab cake, shrimp, roasted fingerlings potato, asparagus, bernaise sauce.

Lobster Linguine Pasta– Squid ink pasta, arrabiata sauce, lobster, calamari, crab.

Asparagus and Scallops Risotto– Creamy risotto, asparagus puree, seared scallops and crispy prosciutto.

Lazaña Eggplant Rolls– Breaded eggplant, wrapped with basil, burrata, and a vodka sauce base.

Green Fusion Cauliflower Medley– Roasted cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, hummus, chimichurri, tahini and lemon juice.

Pork Belly Teriyaki – Pork Belly cooked with glaze marinated teriyaki sauce, a salad consisting of cabbage, carrots and spring onions, lightly tossed in a tangy sesame and soy sauce dressing.

Ask for the dessert options too! The bananas foster is served tableside and great for sharing. Definitely pairs well with an espresso martini or two. As for cocktails, we also enjoyed the basil cucumber smash (made with gin) and the pisco sour which is made with egg whites and has classic, vintage drink vibes. Frame’s cocktail list can be found here. They make one of my favorite espresso martinis in the city, so of course I ordered it. But the American Gothic (bourbon, ginger, lemon, blackberry, club soda) will be on my table next time!

Frame is an ideal location for brunch too. The menu starts at 11am on weekends, ending at 4pm on Saturdays and 5pm on Sundays. It’s perfect for people who want to sleep in and not rush to meet their friends. Or if you’re a theatre person, like I am, it’s a good spot before a weekend matinee at the Arden nearby.
