New Ridge Brewing Company and the Roxborough Development Corporation are proud to announce Cheers to Women: A Celebration of History, Brews, and Community in Roxborough, a special event in honor of Women’s History Month. The event will feature local renowned beer historian and author Tara Nurin, as well as a showcase of local women-owned businesses and musicians. Tara Nurin will be featuring her book A Woman’s Place is in the Brewhouse: A Forgotten History of Alewives, Brewsters, Witches and CEOs. Released September 2021, it is the first book to chronicle the 200,000-year-old history and future of women in beer and won 1st Place at the North American Guild of Beer Writers Book Award in 2022. The event will take place on Saturday, March 23rd, from 12 to 4 pm at New Ridge Brewing Company and Roxborough Pocket Park. Attendees can look forward to a book signing by Tara Nurin, a women-owned vendor market, and live music throughout the day. Look for beer and food features and specials as well. Food and drink is pay-as-you-go.

Both organizations are pleased to announce that a portion of the proceeds from the upcoming event will support the Roxborough Home for Women, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women in need in our community.
