On Friday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., ACHIEVEability (5901 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19139) hosts its first-ever Impact Day where volunteers will join together to make a lasting impact in West Philadelphia. Throughout the day, volunteers will work on various projects to enhance the West Philadelphia neighborhood including power washing, installing planters, painting, packing donations, gardening, and building planters and mini free libraries. The organization envisions a West Philadelphia that is safe, equitable, and vibrant for all. The event is a chance to come together, do some good, and to get things done—only as a rising and thriving community can.

“Imagine a West Philadelphia where every resident thrives, where every street corner pulses with the energy of thriving small businesses, and where every block is safe, clean and green,” says Jamila Harris Morrison, Executive Director of ACHIEVEability. “Join us at #ImpactDay2024 – you can help us realize the dream of a rising and thriving West Philly. Together, we’re not just dreaming of change; we’re creating it.”

The first Impact Day is expected to bring together more than 500 volunteers with a fundraising goal of $250,000. Impact Day will commence at 9 a.m. with a press conference outside ACHIEVEability’s headquarters located at 5901 Market Street. All volunteers will receive an Impact Day 2024 t-shirt;  breakfast and lunch will also be provided. Food and logistical services are being provided by local West Philadelphia and/or BIPOC vendors including Eatible Delights, Planning 2 Perfection, Burrito Feliz Philly, and Siddiq’s Water Ice.

Volunteer opportunities are open to residents as well as corporate and nonprofit partners. All service projects are centered around 60th and Market Street corridor. To volunteer on Impact Day, please visit: https://achieveability.org/2024impactday-volunteer
