The Roxborough Development Corporation is excited to bring you a three-day holiday event with a NEW indoor pop-up market beginning Friday, December 8th through Sunday, December 10th, 2023 at the Roxborough Pocket Park (6170 and 6174 Ridge Avenue). Over 20 unique crafters, artists, treats, and beverages will fill the space next to the park (previously the Royal Bargain Dollar Store). Each day, look for special entertainment and programming, on top of the shopping, food and drinks. A tree lighting ceremony will kick off the weekend with five brilliantly lit trees matching the muralled walls of the park on Friday night. Two of these trees will serve as wishing trees, inviting children to decorate wooden ornaments and inscribe their heartfelt wishes. On Saturday the holiday fun continues with a visit by Santa and special festive music by Galena Brass Band. The final day of the pop-up market will include visits by Elsa and Anna from Frozen as well as Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Leading up to the event, local restaurants and shops along Ridge Avenue will be offering specials and promotions throughout the week of December 4th – 10th which can be viewed on the RDC’s event page through a digital coupon book.
“I hope that by offering this extended event it will entice more visitors to linger, check off their holiday wish lists, and foster a thriving environment that supports local businesses, ultimately amplifying the festive spirit and economic growth within the Roxborough community,” said RDC Executive Director Jacqueline Cusack.

Commencing the three-day event on Friday night there will be a beautiful tree-lighting ceremony of five trees accompanied by the sounds of Watershed Church holiday band. The tree-lighting will be presented by RDC Executive Director, Jax Cusack with special guest Senator Vincent Hughes at 5:30pm.Two of the trees will serve as “wishing trees” giving an opportunity for kids to write their wishes on wooden ornaments and place them on the trees.

Enjoy all the other festive activities as well like crafts for kids and a holiday brass band. Jeannette’s School of Dance will be sharing a special holiday performance in the Pocket Park. Everyone can keep warm and toasty with a hot cocoa or head to our NEW Smore’s station as well as Mr.Burgers food truck.

The magic continues Sunday, Dec. 10th with two special meet-and-greet sessions! Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer will be traveling all the way from the North Pole for pictures with pets and families from 12pm – 2pm! Then a wintry blast arrives with Elsa and Anna from Frozen from 1pm – 3pm.
