El Merkury, Philadelphia’s home for scratch-made Central American street food, recently announced the launch of Churro Happy Hour! Available Monday through Friday from 3 — 6 pm.

Signature churros will be BOGO- buy one churro ($7), get one free. Alternatively, for cold weather days, guests can warm up by substituting the second, free churro for a hot drink, like El Merkury’s rich, freshly made Guatemalan Hot Chocolate, or a hot drip coffee, espresso, cappuccino, or latte. (*Note: This special is available exclusively at the Chestnut Street location at 2104 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia PA.)

Foodies who have never tried El Merkury’s homemade churros can wipe away all expectations of the typical stick-shaped dessert. The Central American eatery creates churros that are a sight to behold- looping around in a foot-high circle and stuffed down into soft serve, the cinnamon-sugar, crunchy treats are pieces of art. Plus, for sauce fanatics, the churros come with a side of caramel and chocolate for dipping.
