Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse is delighted to announce the highly anticipated return of its 4th annual Slide-A-Thon event. Family & Friends, on Saturday, October 7th. And the newest addition, Corporate Teams, on Friday, October 6th, both between 10 am and 4 pm. This fundraiser is dedicated to supporting Smith and the beloved Ann Newman Giant Wooden Slide, situated within Smith’s historic 16,000-square-foot Playhouse and 6.5-acre Playground in East Fairmount Park. The event aims to raise essential funds to support Smith’s work, which involves welcoming over 200,000 visitors annually from every zip code in Philadelphia.
Participants of all ages will have the opportunity to experience the thrill of slide games, conquer challenging obstacle courses, and take part in team activities that will ignite laughter and create lasting memories. The little ones will also have a chance to showcase their creativity through engaging arts and crafts. The Slide-A-Thon promises to be a day filled with pure playground enjoyment.
The Corporate Teams Slide-A-Thon on Friday, October 6, 2023, allows teams to take their team bonding to new heights during this captivating off-site retreat, to unite departments, foster connections, and build camaraderie; this event will feature thrilling team-building exercises, relaxation, and joyous playground amusement. Breakfast, lunch, and happy hour will be provided. And let’s not forget about the ultimate prize – bragging rights as the Slide-A-Thon champions.
