Come as you are to the world premiere of Rhythm Bath. Explore what’s around you. No need to stay seated or quiet. This new dance installation is part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival and it’s a beautiful experience for absolutely everyone! Rhythm Bath was designed to be a welcoming and accessible performance for the neurodiverse and neurotypical communities.

Renowned choreographer Susan Marshall and Tony Award-winning set designer Mimi Lien, along with Temple University Institute on Disabilities, created this dance installation which invites guests become fully immersed in everything happening around them…if they want to! The performances take place in Christ Church Neighborhood House in a big open space where you’re encouraged to stand, sit on the floor, move around in a spinning chair, and enjoy the show in a way that makes you feel comfortable. If you need a break, if you want to dance, if you can’t stay the whole time- that’s all okay!

Rhythm Bath was developed in conversation and collaboration with those who identify as neurodiverse. The performance space will be open to ticket holders for exploration before and after show. You’ll be provided with a sensory time line which breaks down the performance minute by minute, allowing viewers to know what’s coming up, how many dancers will be on stage, volume, intensity, and speed.

Rhythm Bath takes place at Christ Church Neighborhood House through September 24th. For more info, a “know before you go” guide, and preview video click here. Though this run is sold out, stand-by tickets may be available at the door. Free tickets are available for people in the neurodiversity and disability communities. Call 215-413-1318 for details.
