Multi-day Community Celebration at the Philadelphia Museum of Art This Weekend

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is pleased to present a full weekend of events, celebrating the many diverse communities of Philadelphia:

Friday, 6/16: Friday Night Lounge featuring live performances from Rashaan Rich & The JuneB All Stars, performances honoring the spirit of Juneteenth, locally sourced spirits and wines, tasty small plates from Constellation Culinary Group available for purchase.
Location: Great Stair Hall / 5:00 – 9:00 pm

Saturday, 6/17Saturday Night House Party where the museum will be transformed into a House Party featuring music, art-making activities and artist takeovers, live entertainment, popups and more! Live performances by REVIVAL!, including Rashid Zakat, lil’ dave, and Oluwafemi as they fill the Williams Forum with an audio-visual mix of joy and resilience. Also in the Forum, see the performance by Great on Skates, with a mix of dance and DJing. Look out for Botanic Village’s striking artist takeover in the Great Stair Hall and try your hand at botanic collage. Also planned are screen printing on-site with Fleisher Art Memorial, selfie-stations, a Chill Zone, and local distillery tastings. Sunday, 6/18: Block Party, a family-friendly day of art and community. Celebrate Father’s Day with loads of festivities! Music, Food Trucks, artist-designed Mini Golf, story time, artist takeovers, and more will be onsite. Storyteller/author Thembi Palmer will captivate young listeners in a journey of movement and the imagination. Snacktime brass band, DJs, Rana Ransom, and Yolo Ono will bring the music. Enjoy screen printing with the Fleisher Art Memorial.
Location: hosted at East Terrace at the top of the “Rocky Steps.”
10:00 am – 3:00 pm / Pay as you wish admission

Throughout the weekend, special food and drink items will be curated by Constellation Culinary Group in partnership with local artisan makers and chefs. Capping the extended community weekend, the museum will observe Juneteenth with a special dedication ceremony at nearby Mount Pleasant on Monday.
