With Pride Month quickly approaching, City Winery Philadelphia has pulled out all the stops to make next month as special as possible. The urban winery will be hosting drag shows and pride comedy shows, as well as selling a special label bottle of wine with a portion of each sale going towards local pride organizations. City Winery Philadelphia is also kicking off their weekly summer special, Wine Down Wednesdays.
One of the very special drag shows coming to City Winery Philadelphia during Pride Month is the Jennifer Coolidge Comedy & Drag Variety Show. Guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Jennifer Coolidge character to enjoy a night of comedy, music, drag, madlibs, and taking the dog dumbass!
This show is officially Jennifer-Coolidge-approved after she attended one of the many sold out performances all over Los Angeles and NYC. Hosted by comedy artist, actor, and writer Sarah Lazarus, this variety show will feature an array of NYC and Philadelphia’s finest performers including X-Emma, VinChelle, John Hedrick, and TaTa Sherise.
Other Pride shows include:
- Buzz Gworls Pride Month Drag Brunch on June 11 at 12 p.m.
- Betty Smithsonian and Friends Pride Comedy Showcase on June 24 at 7:30 p.m.
To give back this Pride Month, City Winery Philadelphia is selling a special label bottle of wine all month long. For every $30 bottle of “Rainbow Sauv Blanc” sold, $8 will go towards local pride organizations.
June is also the first month of City Winery Philadelphia’s new weekly special, Wine Down Wednesday. They will be offering incredible discounts on cocktails, wine, beer, and appetizers every Wednesday on the patio from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A summer happy hour is not complete without music, so City Winery Philadelphia has a rotating set of local DJs that will be providing the playlist each week.
Wine Down Wednesday menu items include:
- $5 select wine
- $6 select Victory beer
- $14 select Ketel One & Crown Royal cocktails
- $11 Risotto Balls
- $12 Kung Pao Cauliflower Chicken
- $12 Margarita Flatbrea
